How the Members Hub works
Progress Levels
There are four levels of progress within the Welcoming Clubs accreditation, each requires evidence to be submitted and accepted by the Welcoming Clubs team.
A club may submit for the level they deem themselves to have the policies, actions and outcomes to achieve. For a more detailed understanding of the accreditation process, please see the (link) Welcoming Clubs Accreditation page.
-

Established Club
Clubs at this level have taken action towards becoming a more connected and cohesive community. -
Advanced Club
Clubs at this level have activated club wide involvement in the process of welcoming and inclusion. -

Clubs at this level are setting and achieving goals that progress diversity and inclusion across their club and the wider community.
There are six categories in the Welcoming Club Standard.
Each one is comprised of a set of indicators.
Clubs must upload evidence of action for each indicator when they submit for formal accreditation.
| Category | Description |

| 1. Leadership | Welcoming Clubs progress diversity and inclusion in sport and recreation by cultivating a culture of welcome, fairness, equity and inclusion. This is supported with management and systems that encourage participation for all members of the community. Welcoming Clubs share success and are demonstrated leaders in the sports sector. |
| 2. Community Engagement | Welcoming Clubs believe that diversity is a strength and are committed to engaging people from all backgrounds as members and supporters of the club, including proactive engagement with marginalised or underrepresented groups. |
| 3. Recruitment and Retention | Welcoming Clubs know their local community and seek to engage people from all backgrounds in club activities. |
| 4. Social and Cultural Inclusion | Welcoming Clubs reflect the wider community and are a place where all members can fully express their identity and experience a sense of belonging. |
| 5. Places and Spaces | Welcoming Clubs provide facilities and spaces that are physically, socially and emotionally safe, that encourage social connection and a sense of belonging. |
| 6. Money Matters | Welcoming Clubs recognise that the main barrier to participation in sports and physical activity is cost and sustainable membership requires an economic model that creates varied options for involvement. |
Assessment Criteria
Progress levels:
- Committed: all clubs invited to portal are Committed
- Established: get 10-24 points
- Advanced: get 25-34 points
- Excelling: 35+ points
A club’s score is calculated in the following way:
- Each indicator is worth points based on the level of investment needed from clubs to action.
- 1-point indicators require actions from a few people and less time compared to indicators worth 2 or 3 points which take more time and require more club-wide action.
Each indicator has 4 levels of progress so clubs can continuously advance their practice.
- not started
- developing
- in action
- successful
- If a club get progress level 1-2, they won’t get any score.
- If a club gets progress level 3-4, they pass and get full points for the indicator.
- The total points score across indicators will create the total score for the category.
- The total score across all categories will be the final score for the assessment.
