Pascoe Vale FC- Recognising club history

By Admin January 19, 2022

Sharing the history of the club, its role in the community and its ongoing journey of welcome and inclusion.

Like many soccer clubs across Australia, Pascoe Vale FC was founded by European migrants, fleeing for safety and a better life in Australia. Pascoe Vale FC proudly shares the history of how it was founded by British migrants.

Later, its’ early Macedonian members reformed the club and not only built a place to play football but a place where the whole community could come together and belong: http://www.pvfc.com.au/club-history/

Over the years, Pascoe Vale FC has become a place of welcome and community connectedness for many players, coaches, and fans from various diverse communities in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. This can be seen through the club’s social media channels which celebrate the diversity of its playing and coaching groups. The club is committed to the SportforAll initiative which supports inclusion for people with disabilities in mainstream clubs and advocates for refugee and migrant communities, most recently during the mass evacuations from Afghanistan.

WC: Sharing the history of a club gives people an insight into its values and origins. Embracing and celebrating the changes that have occurred over time demonstrate to the community that the club is relevant and is working to be reflective of the people they hope to serve. Seemingly simple, sharing your history is a valuable way to help people connect with your club.
